DR. ANDREA CLOW | DAOM, L.AC., FABORM, CD(DONA)

Doctor of  Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine

Owner of Sherwood Acupuncture

Andrea received a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in 2011, one of the oldest and most comprehensive programs in the country. Andrea is licensed by the Oregon Medical Board as well as the California Board of Acupuncture as an acupuncturist and herbalist. She has been practicing in alternative medicine for almost 20 years.

“Acupuncture and Oriental medicine continues to amaze me as these modalities provide my patients with incredible success. I have seen patients obtain full relief and transformations, with many reporting better sleep, improved digestion, better circulation and an overall feeling of calm.” Already with a background in massage therapy, Andrea was introduced to Chinese medicine in 2006. This form of medicine resonated with her. She knew she would be able to help patients and reduce pain by using Chinese medicine in combination with her massage therapy training.

“Pain can lead patients to discover a deeper understanding of self, ultimately leading them to make healthy lifestyle changes.”

During her studies at OCOM and through life experiences, Andrea developed a personal connection to treating women’s' health and fertility. She considers herself to be a child of infertility as her parents struggled to get pregnant and holds this dear to her heart. Andrea focuses on the treatment of women’s health and fertility and enhancing overall reproductive health. Andrea is a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Health (ABORM) since 2016 and a Dona International certified Doula since 2017.

“My passion for Chinese medicine comes from my desire to help relieve pain and suffering, which can come in many different forms, on many different levels. I continuously educate myself to better treat patients and work toward understanding where patients are in life with love and compassion, empowering them to make healthier, more informed decisions.”

Andrea believes the mind, body, and spirit are interconnected in ways we can't always see or explain and there is a time and place for all forms of medicine. She treats patients, herself, and her family naturally, giving the body guidance to heal itself. Combining acupuncture and herbal medicine with massage techniques, as well as nutritional and meditative recommendations; Andrea's goal is to assist her patients in harmonizing the connection of mind, body and spirit to restore the balance within.

During her down time she spend as much as she can with my family hiking, gardening, cooking and just being silly.

ALISON HEALY | L.AC

Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Alison is a practitioner of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She holds a Masters of Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) through Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to graduating in 2021, she received a B.S. in Community Health and a Minor in Indigenous Nations Studies from Portland State University in 2017.

Alison is a proud Oregonian, born in Portland, OR, and raised in the traditional lands and nations of the Multnomah, Clackamas, and many other nations along the greater Columbia River Gorge. This greatly influenced her advocacy for the health of her communities and the environment.

The art of healing is in Alison’s blood; her grandparents fell in love practicing medicine during WWII. Acupuncture connects the mind, heart and body. Integrating all elements of the self and the world around us brings the body into balance. Alison’s goal is to find the underlying cause of pain and disharmony we experience. Using a gentle yet effective approach, Alison weaves acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, massage, and herbal support with other complementary techniques to promote overall health and wellbeing. Patient empowerment and sustainable lifestyle changes create long lasting wellness.

With over 1,000 clinical hours, including an internship with Providence Integrative Clinic, Alison addressed conditions such as supportive cancer care, general pain, headaches, symptoms of anxiety and depression, stress, digestive complaints, women’s health, autoimmune and skin conditions, fatigue, sleep issues, allergies and stroke rehab. Alison welcomes patients of all ages, backgrounds and varying concerns that wish to enhance their overall wellbeing.

To keep her energy abundant, grateful and grounded, Alison practices Qigong, yoga and dance. She advocates for playfulness, exploring nature, a full night’s sleep and engagement with the people, places and animal companions we hold dear.

Lori Petras | B.S., L.AC., MAcOM

Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Lori is a nationally licensed and board-certified Diplomate in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the NCCAOM and has been treating patients for over 14 years.  She graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (O.C.O.M.) in 2008, receiving her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Prior to this journey, Lori received a BS in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, giving her a detailed Western understanding of how the body functions.  After finishing her studies at O.C.O.M., she chose to deepen her knowledge of Eastern medicine by completing an advanced clinical internship at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China.  While there, Lori had the privilege of working with world renowned Doctors of Chinese Medicine, expanding her knowledge of TCM diagnosis and acupuncture techniques.

"My journey with Chinese medicine began with my acupuncture experience.  To put it simply, I was fascinated by my own acupuncture treatments and needed to know more.  Acupuncture not only relieved my chronic pain but also changed my destiny.  I've always been a personal advocate for natural, holistic medicine, and I was ready to answer the question 'How can I help?'."

When not serving her community through Chinese medicine, Lori loves to spend her time camping, traveling internationally, growing organically in her gardens, dog walks with her pup Penelope, and eating out at Portland’s great restaurants.  She advocates for environmental and collective consciousness and supports her community in any way she can.
