Lori Petras | BS, MAcOM, LAc

Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Owner of Sherwood Acupuncture

Lori is a nationally licensed and board-certified Diplomate in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the NCCAOM and has been practicing acupuncture since 2009.  She graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (O.C.O.M.) in 2008, receiving her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Prior to this journey, Lori received a BS in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, giving her a detailed Western understanding of how the body functions.  After finishing her studies at O.C.O.M., she chose to deepen her knowledge of Eastern medicine by completing an advanced clinical internship at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China.  While there, Lori had the privilege of working with world renowned Doctors of Chinese Medicine, expanding her knowledge of TCM diagnosis and acupuncture techniques.

"My journey with Chinese medicine began with my acupuncture experience.  To put it simply, I was fascinated by my own acupuncture treatments and needed to know more.  Acupuncture not only relieved my chronic pain but also changed my destiny.  I've always been a personal advocate for natural, holistic medicine, and I was ready to answer the question 'How can I help?'."

When not serving her community through Chinese medicine, Lori loves to spend her time camping, traveling internationally, growing organically in her gardens, dog walks with her pup Penelope, and eating out at Portland’s great restaurants.  She advocates for environmental and collective consciousness and supports her community in any way she can.

ALISON HEALY | MAcOM, LAc

Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Alison is a practitioner of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She holds a Masters of Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) through Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to graduating in 2021, she received a B.S. in Community Health and a Minor in Indigenous Nations Studies from Portland State University in 2017.

Alison is a proud Oregonian, born in Portland, OR, and raised in the traditional lands and nations of the Multnomah, Clackamas, and many other nations along the greater Columbia River Gorge. This greatly influenced her advocacy for the health of her communities and the environment.

The art of healing is in Alison’s blood; her grandparents fell in love practicing medicine during WWII. Acupuncture connects the mind, heart and body. Integrating all elements of the self and the world around us brings the body into balance. Alison’s goal is to find the underlying cause of pain and disharmony we experience. Using a gentle yet effective approach, Alison weaves acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, massage, and herbal support with other complementary techniques to promote overall health and wellbeing. Patient empowerment and sustainable lifestyle changes create long lasting wellness.

With over 1,000 clinical hours, including an internship with Providence Integrative Clinic, Alison addressed conditions such as supportive cancer care, general pain, headaches, symptoms of anxiety and depression, stress, digestive complaints, women’s health, autoimmune and skin conditions, fatigue, sleep issues, allergies and stroke rehab. Alison welcomes patients of all ages, backgrounds and varying concerns that wish to enhance their overall wellbeing.

To keep her energy abundant, grateful and grounded, Alison practices Qigong, yoga and dance. She advocates for playfulness, exploring nature, a full night’s sleep and engagement with the people, places and animal companions we hold dear.
